EARLY CHILDHOOD

Fiore’s Early Childhood program spans ages 3 months through 6 years and includes the completion of the Kindergarten year. This age range is highly consequential in your child’s life since it is the foundation of future learning and development. We have three communities for these ages - Nido, Toddler and Primary, Children move through these programs when they are ready emotionally and socially. Each community is carefully curated to address the needs of your growing child. Lessons are given one on one and children are given the opportunity to develop at their own pace. This creates a strong sense of confidence and joy associated with learning which will last a lifetime.

In the final year of this program children reach their Kindergarten year and the academic work that they did so far comes to fruition. Children learn arithmetic and reading and writing skills along with multiple other disciplines. They are leaders in their classroom and carry themselves differently.

NIDO
Serving infants ages 3 - 18 months

The Nido or "nest" is a warm, home-like Montessori environment for babies. The environment and materials are thoughtfully designed to support the development of infants from the early weeks and months of life up until the baby is walking confidently. This space allows for opportunities to move and explore, balancing the need for independent play and interaction with a caring caregiver. It is a place to slow down and show that they are respected and capable, laying the foundation to create a secure attachment where they build trust in themselves, their caregivers, and their environment.

PRIMARY
Serving children ages 3 to 6 years

Children under the age of six have what Maria Montessori called, "an absorbent mind". The environment is quite literally absorbed by the child, shaping the foundation for who they will become. With this in mind, our primary classrooms are meticulously designed to meet the needs of children ages three to six. Child-sized furniture, beautiful and interesting objects, and scientifically designed materials are available for the children to use and explore.

Our highly trained guides observe each child for developmental signs of readiness and present lessons on the materials that correspond to each child's needs. The children are free to explore with those materials within the limits of the classroom expectations and structure.

Building independence, concentration, fine motor skills, language, and sensory experiences are the foundation of a primary environment. The use of real, concrete materials and experiences also allows the children to explore higher level concepts such as division or grammar, at a young age.

TODDLER
Serving infants ages 16 months to 3 Years

Our toddler community is a warm, loving environment scientifically designed to entice and support children ages 16 months to 3 years. The environment fosters independence, language development, movement, and socialization. Our toddler community is a diaper-free environment and children are supported in learning to become toilet independent.

During their time in the toddler community, young children learn to become bathroom independent, dress themselves, prepare foods, and care for their classroom environment. The materials and environment are designed to support the development of the child's fine and gross motor skills. Their language development is supported daily through exposure to real-world experiences, vocabulary lessons, and conversation. Children learn how to socialize and interact with others through "grace and courtesy lessons" and daily interactions with peers and adults.
